The Longo family became member of the Maggior Consiglio (Great concil) in 1381 due to their efforts in the war against Genova. The palace, though, dates clearly from the 15th century and shows mature details that can be compared with those of the ruin of palazzo Caotorta near the "La Fenice". Another indication for the date is the narrow portego.
